Guest guest
I would really like my baby to be born at home in a birth pool. Only problem is that I dont like my midwife and have no confidence in her (same one I had for DS1!). She is really young, never had a baby and never understood my worries or concerns. I cant afford a private midwife or doula, and as my last baby was back to back, I need someone who I really bond with. Should i just have it in hospital? Do I have any other options? I dont want to change surgery as I love my Doctor, hes great, and its a small village, I dont want to have to trog into the twon centre when i am not well! Thanks guys, Mum to Rohan (9 mths)
Guest guest
, I'd go for the home birth if I was you, but then I'm biased because all three of mine were born at home! Is there only the one midwife in your village? Have you discussed it with her? One of mine (I've had the same team for all three), was single, younger than me, no children and she's lovely, but I do understand that you need some sort of empathy with your midwife. You never know though, she may be really enthusiastic about homebirth and be a great help and support to you. You won't necessarily have another back to back birth, second babies are often very easy births (mine was - the midwives arrived an hour before and left an hour after Nicky was born!). It's completely your choice, but I know I'd rather have a baby at home with a midwife I wasn't 100% sure about than in hospital. Was this midwife with you for your last labour and birth? Because sometimes a midwife you're not sure about for routine antenatal care can be a star when D-Day arrives. I know it's another group, but a lot of us on coffee are also on this group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/homebirthUK so you can ask lots of questions there, or else see Horn's website at: http://www.homebirth.org.uk/ where there is mountains of information. It might be useful to do a bit of background reading at http://www.homebirth.org.uk/ and http://www.aims.org.uk/ Also the yahoo group homebirthuk (where you will see quite a few familiar names. hth james
Guest guest
> I was soooo looking forward to making him some > yogurt smoothies which he loves and hiding some stuff he won't eat in > them. Try goat yogurt. he may do better with it than the DCCC which is from cow's milk. I think if he has no bowel problems you could cautiously try some raw fruit. Pear is usually well tolerated. > Carol F. Celiac, MCS, Latex Allergy, EMS SCD 6 years
