Christian and 6th grade

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone is doing well and if not the hurry up

and get better!

I wanted to let everyone know what we have decided about Christian and 6th

grade. We are going to let him go on but do the tutoring thing during the

summer. I don't know if it will be the right thing to do but with all the

responses

I think we are doing the best thing. Thanks everyone for your input. I already

called his new school and spoke to the guidance counselor about getting his

504 plan in place; the woman must be a saint! She said they would do whatever I

wanted and that she was there for the children not what the teachers want.

She has suggestions that I had never thought about! Did you know that you can

request a modified school week? Yeah, if the everyday thing will be too

difficult with treatments and the likes you can have your child attend school as

little as 3 days a week and they have to let them! Of course, it is the child's

responsibility to get the work made up. I know that when they are sick this is

great but I had never even imagined that they would allow that all the time. She

had some really great ideas, she said last year there was a girl that came in

the office and took a nap every day! I wish I could do that a work! LOL!

Anyway, I will keep you posted on how things go, we are going to the library

tomorrow to get some material to slowly start working up a schedule. I think we

will do more aggressive stuff the closer it gets to school. thank you everyone

for your help, it really made a hard choice easier!

Happy Birthday le! I haven't heard anything from you in a while and

hope you are doing okay. Grandma Bev thank you again for the booklets I know

they

will make it easier to explain to Christian's new teachers. Take care
