Guest guest
What's about the test for PA antibodies? It's my understanding that you can have a blood check for PA antibodies and that test gives you a clear result, whether you harbour PA somewhere in your body or not. Guest guest
If one has cultured PA in the past, wouldn't it be possible/likely that they still would have PA antibodies for some time after, even if the PA , itself, has disappeared? For instance, women often are tested for Rubella (German measles) antibodies before pregnancy. If they have had Rubella as a child, the antibodies are still present and the women are protected from developing Rubella again. If not, they can be vaccinated to protect themselves from catching Rubella during pregnancy. If PA antibodies are present, wouldn't that just mean one has grown PA in their system at some time and it may or may not still be infecting them? I don'tknow the definitive answer on this one. I am just wondering base on my previous understanding of antibodies. M Torsten Krafft wrote: >What's about the test for PA antibodies? Guest guest
Hi , maybe that false positiv results are possible. But I can hardly believe that the test will give false negative results. And my reply was posted regarding to comments that you can't say that a pwcf has gotten rid of the pseudomonas. In Europe the antibody test is used to find candidates for vaccination studies, so if the test can give false negative results then the whole study would be screwed up.
