Regence Blue Cross & Blue Shield & Enzyme replacement meds

In April the controller of my company gave me a memo on changes to

our medical drug plan which moved Ultrase, Creon and other named

brand Enzyme replacement meds from preferred to un-preferred which

would have doubled my daughters meds. The only drugs on preferred

list are Cotazyme (powder), Viokase (Powder) & Pancrease MT. My

Daughter takes Ultrase MT18. After some Phone calls to people above

the front line I was able to get Regence to continue to cover the

Ultrase as a preferred med and they were very nice about it (I was

expecting to have to write a bunch of letters). My Insurance is

through Regence Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Oregon, I don't know if

this will affect any other Regence. I wouldn't have known about this

until after I got the bill from our last refill if it were not for

our controller at work so I thought I'd give you nice people a heads

up as well.
