THE WEB SITE IS www.thevest.com There will be info there how to contact them Also /or call at the toll free #1- ask for the customer relations or for whoever handles the patients insurance coverage. They are a wonderful company & wont be taking it away . Your doctor also should have a copy as it is disputing his medical recommendation. How DARE they do that!! LOVE & HUGS< GRANDMOMBEV If you don't hear from Randy soon, call me 1- .. He will contact you soon. He is VERY helpful , To Randy Good morning Randy, I hope you are online today, I waited till Monday because I figure you wouldn't be online during the weekend. Well, we got our second denial from our insurance Friday. This is what the letter says: " Patient is on both inhaled bronchodialators and steroids. He also receives chest physiotherapy at home. Objective medical documentation does not show an unstable course. This member is below the age of twelve and scientific literature fails to conclusively support a clear superiority of high frequency chest wall compression devices over conventional modes of therapy. Vest Airway Clearance system is deemed experimental/investigational " It also goes on to say that " it was reviewed by a physician who did not participate in the previous determination " , like that gives them more credibility to their determination! The Dr. works for them and has never seen my daughter, also notice that it says " He " my daughter is receiving chest pts, which is untrue, she does the vest twice a day for 20 mins, rain or shine! Well, I am so mad at these people, I can't see straight, we need your help, what do we do now? mom of a 9 wcf, Venanzio 6 nocf, Pepe 3 nocf ------------------------------------------- The opinions and information exchanged on this list should IN NO WAY be construed as medical advice. Guest guest
Hi , I understand how frustrating this is. It looks like a has had the Vest for a year now. The most important thing now is that you don't let them defeat you. a is getting the Vest therapy. Is it helping her stay healthy? That is the important thing right now. We will continue to work with your insurance company and a's physician. Does the MD feel that the Vest is helping? a's health status, your input and your MD's input are very important right now. We WILL NOT abandon you, a and your family. That I can guarantee you! Don't stress, . I will forward your e-mail to the appropriate folks at the home office and we will continue to work with you. By the way, I always check my e-mails during the weekends. You can contact me any time. I am always available. I know this doesn't solve the problem, but, hopefully, it will lessen your frustration level. We are here for you. Guest guest
Thank you Randy and Bev!!! Randy, yes, a has not been sick since May 2002, when she was first diagnosed. She had a small flare up in January, but she was good in 2 days. Can you believe that they don't even know her gender, and to say that she does chest pt at home, come on, how dare them, what a lie. a does her vest like clock work, whether she is healthy whether she is sick, whether she is active whether she is doing nothing. We negotiate everything, but her therapy, is non- negotiable. Dr. Hanissian does believe that a needs the vest, there is no doubt that he will support us. He sees how good a is doing plus he does not work for them, you know they had on the letter that a doctor review this claim, as if this doctor has any credibility in my eyes, I wonder how much money he is being paid. He will say anything to the insurance advantage. Well, I am mad. Thank you, your e-mail makes me feel better. mom of a 9 wcf, Venanzio 6 nocf, Pepe 3 nocf > Hi , > > I understand how frustrating this is. It looks like a has had the Vest > for a year now.
