Guest guest
Hi Everyone: Hope y'all are having a good day, and as pain free as possible. I'm hanging in there, reading all the messages learning more and more every day! A while back I read about someone who's doctor prescribed something to thin out her bile. My doctor and I were discussing this the other day, and I told him I would try to find out what it is. I'm so grateful he has not blown me off like so many others have. I even sent a gift basket to his office this afternoon, to thank him for everything. I know all the girls in the office will LOVE the goodies, and let's face it, you need to make friends with his staff if you want to see him. He is going to schedule me to get a second opinion with a doctor at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. Has anyone had any experience with this hospital? So far I have had two ERCP's with stents, and within weeks, after they take the stent out, I am right back where I started. All this has been done at s Hopkins in Baltimore, and my doctor there feels he's done all he can. I've always been a bit of a mystery. And since he perforated my duodenum during the last ERCP, I think he's a little gun shy. I have daily crippling pain, requiring 100 mgs. of Oxycontin twice a day. I also use Actiq pops for breakthrough pain. I can manage on this, believe it or not, but I wouldn't say it makes me pain free. I have to get up an hour earlier to take a pill before I have to take my shower and get ready for work. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to move. I also have nausea about everyday, helped by phenergan suppositories. And tired? I think a combination of the drugs, and the pain, not to mention the depression, sometimes I wish I could fall asleep, and never wake up. Is a sphincteroplasty where they tie the pancreatic duct directly to the duodenum somehow? Dr. Greer is thinking this might prevent the duct from continually getting blocked. He is open to anything to help me get some type of permanent relief. This is going on three years now. Day in and day out. Well I guess I don't have to tell you! Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
