Guest guest
I have some questions. Maybe some of you folks could relay your experiences and give me some advice. I know a doctor is the last word, but I've learned more on this list in 48 hours than I have learned from doctors in 3 years. 1. How about caffeine? 2. Is a 6 cm pseudocyst (no reduction in 2 years)dangerous to keep if diet and enzymes reduce the pain for me. At present I still need pain meds to get through the day - everyday. 3. Anybody have names for surgeons who do internal pseudocyst drainage in the Kansas City Metro area? Thank you! I'm not religous, but I love saying a prayer for the people on this list when I go to bed. For some reason, it feels good. Scot ===== I'm feeling old today, Sherman... Set the Wayback Machine..... Guest guest
Hi Scot! How ironic, I just read a paper about your first two questions last night so I will answer from what I remember from that paper (if you want me to cite the paper you will have to wait until tomorrow as it is at home right now). The first one, the authors advised to abstain from both caffeine and alcohol. I was a little surprised that they grouped caffeine with alcohol. I am not sure if it implies that the damage from both are similar and just as severe(?) The second one: the authors stated that any pseudocyst less than 6 cm that is non-symptomatic can be treated conservatively, with medication if needed, but usually just a wait and see what happens type of monitoring. Can't answer the third one! And prayers are always appreciated, no matter how " religious " a person is. Just the idea that someone takes comfort with prayer shows a deep respect and appreciation for God's work in our lives. Laurie
