Guest guest
On may 23 we found out Noah ha allergies to cats, eggs and milk protein. So we got rid of the cats, changed to soy milk and are keeping all egg and milk out of his diet. At first he did really well. Was having normal bm's around 2-3 times a day. Dieition was okay with that and said to wait and see the allergist before changing any more meds around or adding any cal boosters. He is taking 4 pancrecarb ms-8 with a meal and 1 ml of tagamet 2x a day. WEll the last week his bm's have been getting lighter in color and today he had one that was loose and soft. And sorry to say but it smelled like my dog had messed in the house. He is still going between 2-3 x a day. the only thing different that he has been eating is bannas he has been wanting 2 a day for the last 2 days. I swear if i hear her say lets wait to see the allergist one more time i will scream. we are getting ready to go on vacation the weekend of july 5 and i do not want to be going away confused. I am so stresssed i feel like crying. AAARRRRGGGHHHH. I have brought up to her a change in his tagamet and she says not right now. Keep everyhting the same. I am wondering if he is now allergic to the soy milk. i am trying to prepare for vacation cause if his is on soy or rice milk i have to get about 30 days worth of the vacuum packed contiainers before i go cause it will be hard to find where my mom lives in ky. so of coarse i do not want to be waiting until the last min. Thanks for letting me vent. mom to Breanna 11 wo/cf, adhd and Noah 3 w/cf
Guest guest
I feel your frustration! My 2 yr old is also allergic to milk and egg whites. Not that it makes much of a difference since he doesn't eat anything by mouth. I was told that CF kids have a hard time digesting soy protein. You may want to ask your dietician about it again. And how can she tell you when to see the allergist??? Just tell her you want to have all the information you can have and just schedule an appointment! But check into the soy thing again. I know when we were considering it, our dietician steered us away from soy. I don't know what other options are out there--maybe rice milk or goat's milk??? > On may 23 we found out Noah ha allergies to cats, eggs and milk > protein. Guest guest
We go to see the allergist on the 17 and she wants to wait until we see him to change anything. She is the one that told me to put him on the soy. I am assuming i am going to have to put him on rice milk. I am just getting frustrated with all of this ansd trying to plan vacation. I have 3 weeks before we go and would love to have something figured out before we go. > I feel your frustration! My 2 yr old is also allergic to milk and > egg whites. Guest guest
hi, Why not try the rice milk before you go to the allergist? I know they said to keep everything the same but if he's having a problem.......I'll just say if it was me I'd try the rice milk for a few days if things improved I would keep him on it. Soy is hard for people with CF to digest, but my daughter was on soy formula as an infant because she wouldn't drink anything else. Re: At my wits end...... Guest guest
Just so you know, bananas tend to do odd things to people even those without cf. > >Reply-To: cfparents >To: cfparents >Subject: At my wits end...... >Date: Thu, 12 Jun 2003 14:32:05 -0000 > >On may 23 we found out Noah ha allergies to cats, eggs and milk >protein.
