I can easily live with it. From your post you said that you aren't a diabetic yet and your doctor and you have been discussing the pancreatectomy. If I were you Fliss I would find out for sure if I have enough viable islet cells to transplant. Have you done any testing to learn if you could have the PT/ICT? I had the experience of having doctors who said that I needed certain surgeries and shouldn't have the pancreatectomy and islet cell transplant not because their particular surgery was right for me but because they didn't know how to do the islet transplant or the hospital they worked out of didn't have the know how or equippment. It is worth it for you to find out for sure if you could have islets transplanted in your liver. I don't mean to tell you what to do I just know from experience that doctors will tell you their opinion sometimes because it benefits there situation.
