Hi Flies, I too have had the TP/ICT and I am now pain free but I am a mild

diabetic. I have a The doctor told me if I ate right I wouldn't need insulin.

I choose to eat almost what I want and take my insulin. Being a diabetic is

nothing compared to having cp. I can easily live with it.

From your post you said that you aren't a diabetic yet and your doctor and

you have been discussing the pancreatectomy. If I were you Fliss I would find

out for sure if I have enough viable islet cells to transplant. Have you done

any testing to learn if you could have the PT/ICT? I had the experience of

having doctors who said that I needed certain surgeries and shouldn't have the

pancreatectomy and islet cell transplant not because their particular surgery

was right for me but because they didn't know how to do the islet transplant or

the hospital they worked out of didn't have the know how or equippment. It

is worth it for you to find out for sure if you could have islets transplanted

in your liver. I don't mean to tell you what to do I just know from

experience that doctors will tell you their opinion sometimes because it

benefits there

situation. Shirley
