Guest guest
What can I put on my son's feet? He sweats profusly - damn I cannot spell that word! His feet sweat A LOT....lol The skin gets red, then breaks down into millions of little cuts - to the point where walking is painful. I would appreciate any ideas Rosemary in NY with 3 children (12, 10 and 6) with CF. Guest guest
Let him go barefoot as much as you can (where you know it is safe) and let him wear sandals in the hot weather. In the cooler weather, bring extra socks and have him change them often (had him rinse them off when possible). 's feet get irritated from staying in the sweaty socks. So if we are out for more than a few hours, I usually have a pair of fresh socks with me. I also have used baby wipes to freshen her feet up before putting new socks on. 's feet get really smelly from the sweat too, so the wipes help with that. Try putting neosporin on his feet at night with socks to heal up those cuts. It may take a while but it will be better than nothing. I hope it works. Feet Issue What can I put on my son's feet? He sweats profusly - damn I cannot spell that word! Guest guest
You could try lanolin for the cuts on his feet. The safest kind to buy would be one recomended for breast feeding mothers. That way you know the product is very pure. My feet crack badly in the summer, and swabing them in the lanolin at night makes them so much better by morning. Before his feet get that way you could try all cotton socks that have a medicated powder in them...only you would need to put the powder in them well away from your son. We let Patti wear sandals a lot. Even in the winter (remember we live in Texas) we mostly just put socks on her feet and then her sandals. The idea is for breathability. There are new tennishoes on the market that have so many holes in them that they look like sandals, Nike and Addidas make some. In the winter could just pack these in his bag and change into them with a clean pair of socks when he got to school. If they sit long periods at the desk you could request that he be allowed to take off his shoes. This is where the slip on tennies and sandals come in handy as it won't slow the class down waiting for him to get his shoes on. Pack a clean pair of socks so that he can change at lunch or whenever his feet start to get wet. I hope this helps some... Guest guest
I don't know if this would help him, but my husband is a diabetic and has problems with his feet. He uses nedicated foot powder in his socks, and that really seems to help with the sweating and the smell!!!
