Guest guest
Oh well, I need to de-stress now. My heart really goes out to you Scot. I know how bad the pain can be and I am so glad when I have it to get right to the hospital and get the pain med. I hope that something works for you soon and especially, I would wish a doctor that you felt cared and understood your condision. Good luck. You will be in my prayers. Guest guest
Scot, at least you got the pain medications, which should help cover that pain. He should have called you though so that you knew to pick up the pain medication and not waste 6 days in pain. I hate it when doctors do such things. I've had it happen to me to where either the doctor or the pharmacist has failed to call me when they are supposed to. Once, I had put in a refill for my enzymes and my brand had been discontinued though I didn't know it. Instead of calling me and/or my doctor to let us know of this situation, they just waited until I came in to pick up the medication. After a very long talk with the pharmacy manager, I then had to go to my doctor's office, explain the situation and have her look up a suitable replacement medication, which I had to take over to the pharmacy and have them fill, which took and additional 5 days because it's a special order (they don't usually order those types of enzymes at all). I've had a chronic problem getting those enzymes filled because something in their phone system to order refill (automated) kicks out all special orders so that they never get filled. I have to actually, physically go in and make sure that the person who orders the prescriptions had ordered them right then in order to guarantee that I get the medication and they are supposed to call me when it comes in, but they never do. Several times I've had to go in and found out that they never ordered the stuff, despite telling me that they would. It's a big fight everytime I have to get them. I have even talked with the CEO of the company about this and still, nothing is done despite his promises. He got me connected with the right people to fix the problem, but they never have. Guest guest
Scot, no problem. I view everyone on this group as if they were a second family to me. I don't know what I would do without them. It helps so much to have someone to talk to who really understands what I am going through. This disease has affected all aspects of our life and people without this disease just don't understand that. I've even met several of them in person by going to the yearly Symposium that this group has on Pancreatitis every year. You can find pictures of some of us (including me) in the photos section of the yahoo board for this group. I'm glad you were able to have the pain taken care of last night. I hate taking the pain meds, but I know I'd be in terrible shape without them. Kimber -- Kimber Vallejo, CA hominid2@...
