Guest guest
Miserable drama! LOLOL THAT is correct!! Well put. I have learned some survival techniques. Amazingly, Ben has lost about 10 pounds. He's OK, but doesn't need to lose anymore. I gained 5. How that works...I know it is because I am the one in the kitchen. That is really the pits! One of my survival techniques has been a carrot cake. I make 2 broiler pans worth, freeze it for lunches. I realized I wasn't making enough food for the family, and that was creating stress. This helps to fill in the holes. Our grocery budget was also being killed. So, no expensive nut flours for us! Walnuts in the food processer from Sam's Club, we just have to adjust. I will try and write up our recipe. We like it. It is not Marie Callender's, but we are years past that anyway. This past two weeks, after sooooo much reading, we started raw goats milk and raw cream (cow). I fermented it with kefir grains (Elaine said after you are well on your way it is OK--bifidus issue again). the problem is, it tastes so good. Almost pure fat, similiar to cream cheese. We eat it by the spoonful. So THAT is where my 5 pounds came from! Just another way to get the good bacteria in the gut. We have access to goats milk now and will have the yogurt. Ben is pleased about that. We are on day 2 of cheese, trying to be moderate. Ben is looking and feeling awesome. I always thought our son would be healed, but thought that before he moved away from home it would be almost too much to hope for. Grateful beyond words. Guest guest
Great tips Lorraine! Yes, I can relate about the grocery budget getting murdered every week - please do share the walnut based carrot cake recipe when you have a moment!! So good to hear your family is doing well with the addition of some dairy products. I long for the day when my ASD daughter can have a hunk of cheddar!! ;-) Kim Day 14 dairy free SCD whole family (cultured butter for 2 yo) 3 yo ASD, 2 yo NT Re: Terriffic Asperger's Success...
