Hello Jim, I too have the calcified pancreas. Nobody has poked it so I don't know if it would bleed. I don't have pseudocysts. I was never offered a Whipple, presumably because they didn't find the condition early enough. The only surgery for my case would be the total pancreatectomy which is very major indeed, carrying its own risks. I don't know whether or not I will have it. (It hasn't been actively recommended but offered as a possibility.) You may be talking about surgery for the pseudocysts?
