Guest guest
A home remedy is 8 ounces of boiled water (cooled) 1/8 teaspoon of table salt shake til mixed use 2 to 3 drops in each nostril every 3-4 hours and it dries the nose up quickly without the bad effects of nose sprays or drops. This can also be used by adults too.The good thing is it is easy to make in the middle of the night. It works for post nasal drip too.Sometimes we did it while in the upside down position for PT then it got up in her sinuses.I hope this helps.BeckyB.-Mama to 8 -2w/cf-Nana to
Guest guest
, I do not know at what age babies learned to breath through their mouth when they have a stuffy nose. I think Liam is too young to be able to do so. I always keep saline drops in my house, they are readily available at any drugstore and very inexpensive. It is nice to know the recipe below, because it works like a charm. I use to put it in my 3 children's nose, when they were babies, and then with a suction pear, suck all that yuck out. Babies can have a lot of yuck, when they have a cold, specially our cf babies. Guest guest
Have you tried saline drops and suctioning it out with a bulb syringe? Thats what we used to do. Also if you get the doc's OK you can use a product like Afrin, a nasal decongestant that comes as drops or spray. It is important to only use it for up to 4 days in a row and no more, or what your doc tells you. Babies are miserable when they can't breathe through their noses and this can help. Just don't do the Afrin too often. love, Sinus Problem Liam > hi all > Since Liams first cold which was about 6 weeks ago he has had a stuffy nose, it just wont go away and today he has started coughing again but no runny nose or anything, just coughing.
