Guest guest
, I gave them about 2 months in, after we started SCD the first time (May 2005). He had a few outbreaks of hives and some raging episodes. We then went off SCD for a few months and he was having horrible reactions (we added rice, lots of raw fruit, and corn). He re-started SCD in March 06 and I didn't introduce any until maybe a month in? It was strawberry sauce I believe. Then Peach sauce. Then almond flour and peanut butter. He didn't have a reaction to any of it so I started giving him raw strawberries about a week ago (2 months in). So far we haven't seen any reaction. His poops aren't as solid as they were at first but they are formed and in the toilet. I would give it another month maybe? And add them slowly, well cooked and ripe. I thought maybe waiting for consistantly " normal " stools, then 12 months. So far, DS has not had great stools back-to-back. We get a few nicely formed stools, then mushy goo again. Almost jumped for joy yesterday -- 2 days straight with formed stools. We've had such bad reactions to salicylates, I don't want to move too fast & stress my little ones more than necessary. We've been through 2 tough years -- diet restrictions, yeast, etc. in Iowa Mom to 4 1, 3 & 5 yo SCD targets For information on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, please read the book _Breaking the Vicious Cycle_ by Elaine Gottschall and read the following websites: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info and http://www.pecanbread.com
