Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I am pretty new to the list...have been reading for a few weeks. I am going to be in the Durham are in a couple of weeks and wondered if any of you visited before your actual clinic appointment? I am 99% sure I want to have the MGB & have gotten the patient manual & other paperwork to get started on. Do you think it woould be benifical to actually go to the clinic? Even if I did not see Dr. Rutledge? I am just curious if any of you did this before you got started with the whole process? When this trip popped up, I bagan to think about going by...if it would be helpful or not and if it was ordinarily done? Thanks for all the great information in the posts...it has answered a lot of my questions! Alice
Guest guest
--- Alice, I stopped into clinic before my actuall clinic date (I live local) and it was a Godsend that I did. I wasnt 100% certain at that point and I had many unresolved questions answered. Good Luck Lori 5-31-00 49- In MiniGastricBypass (AT) egroups (DOT) com, " tcbace @b... Guest guest
Hi Alice, I strongly recommend you go to the clinic. I did. I went to clinic in May and had not even started on my packet, other than filling out the forms on the e-mail. It really helped me to understand what I was getting myself into. I even talked my husband into going with me so he would be able to understand also. I called Debbie and she went ahead and made me an appt. so I could talk with Dr. Rutledge. I'm really glad I did. I didn't even know about the egroup when I did all this! So your one up on me! Rosemary MGB 7/24/00 Clinic Visit? > Hi Everyone, > I am pretty new to the list...have been reading for a few weeks. Guest guest
It's really weird, but I don't feel any different than I did before surgery!! Only I don't really WANT anything to eat. The first 5 or 6 days post op I wanted everything in the kitchen but now nothing even looks good! Bacon still smells good frying but just don't want to eat it. This is a new feeling for me. I've never in my life not wanted food. And another thing has changed, hmmmmmmmmm I don't really like the taste of water like I use to! I use to crave water. Maybe it was because of all the BAD stuff I was eating! Do you think??? Any comments?? Oh well, by the time I take the meds I'm usually satisfied. I did try mashed potatoes yesterday, I'm not ready for them yet! or else my mouth out talked my tummy! They didn't set well. Didn't get sick just had a little tummy ache. Bern if you're reading this, I'm back to juice and crackers today!! Wonder if I can survive on them alone??????????????????????? Eating crackers and drinking unsweet juice seems to be the thing for me! Can you imagine I don't even like the juice Popsicles! What is it with me???? Dr R did you take out my sweet tooth and forgot to tell me?????????????? Hugs, Rosemary Clinic Visit? > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi Everyone, > > > > > I am pretty new to the list...have been reading for a few > weeks. > > > I > > > > > am going to be in the Durham are in a couple of weeks and > > > wondered if > > > > > any of you visited before your actual clinic appointment?
