Guest guest
Kimber, I do so hope that you get your hearing with a judge soon. It was such a disappointment to hear about your denials, and the assinine reasoning of SSDI that you could do a sedentary job! After knowing your story, and then meeting you in person, it is mind boggling to me how anyone could feel you were able to return to the work force! I guess they figure that you can just forget about the need to medicate yourself to control the pain, and then it will all go away, right? They more or less said the same with me, that I could return to sedentary work, ignoring the fact that no one would hire someone who is physically unable to sit for longer than an hour or two at best without severe pain, requiring the use of narcotics, and that on average is hospitalized once every 4 months for a week at a time, or is flat on their back in pain two or three days a week! The reasoning of these people kills me! They even said that my condition had been " treated by hospitalization " .....I guess they figure that once we're hospitalized with an acute attack that we walk out the following week fully cured. I WISH! I'm just getting a bit uptight myself again, waiting for some word on this first appeal. They have the information, but have not communicated anything more with me, and it's been two months of internal anxiousness. So I understand what you're going through, dear woman. Yet once a judge gets to actually see you, and see what kind of physical difficulties you have, I feel sure that he or she will award you your full entitlement without question. It's just so unfair that you should have to go through all the hoops over and over again when your impairments are so obvious. Just out of curiousity, have you at any time during this process ever been SEEN by an SSDI representative, or has all your processing been done through the mail? Just wanted to let you know that I've been thinking of you, and I hope you get your day in court soon, as I know it's so hard to wait for something so important to your future. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. PAI, Intl.
