Guest guest
Hi Donna, I'm sorry for all you are going through..I just wanted to say that..having now lived in the USA for the past 4 years, coming from another country...I can't believe how the government..and insurance companies make people pay so much for medications...it really does suck !!! Back in Australia, the most I had ever paid for any medicines of any sort were $17 and that was contraception..mind you, that was $17 for a 4 month supply..even that over here is $20 for one month... It really is a joke, unfortunately on us. I think the Social Security system here is disgustingly run...Who do they think they are to deny people's claims such as I have read on this site, when you do all the running around, provide everything and more that they could possibly need, testimonies from doctors, some losing their homes etc..and then slap the person in the face by saying no... I get so infuriated...and then to say " we are paying you too much, you can survive on a mere $200 after medicine costs that are needed to keep you alive " per month would be so laughable if it wasn't so stressing and sad and true. For a forward, advanced country, some of their departments and governments are really backwards and behind the times. In Australia, if one is on unemployment, disability or old aged pensions or single parents pension..they get free medical supplies, free medical treatment, and only pay a maximum of $15 or so for the really expensive medicines. There are times when I hear these stories that I wish some people in positions of authority in these areas get to experience these problems first hand..but then there is probably an exception to the rule for them. I probably sound like a very bitter person..I'm not really, I just get angry over the injustice to us little people. Take care,
