Guest guest
Dear Kimber, I hope you are enjoying Thanksgiving. I am thinking of all my new American friends to-day and wishing we had Thanksgiving too! Thank you so much for your kind message. I really do appreciate your thoughts. The difficult part is that there are so few TPs done overall that it is hard to get a really accurate picture of results over time. I didn't realise just how much you have gone through already. I understand how you feel about the Whipple. I don't know anything about the statistics for success with this operation but it's true that people often post who have not found it totally satisfactory. It's hard to weigh up the pros and cons sometimes, isn't it? I'm going to see how I feel over the next few weeks before I make a decision for the near future. On the other hand, if I am going to have this op, probably sooner, while I'm still fit in other ways and not diabetic, would be better than later! I know of women who have had mastectomies in order to avoid a very high breast cancer risk. Although this is psychologically a much more traumatic operation than a TP, physically the TP is so risky and so major! Kimber, just having your message has really helped! Thank you so much. Best wishes, Fliss
