That quote from " The Velveteen Rabbit, " and " The Giving Tree " always

get to me, too--funny, the kids were just plain fascinated as I grabbed

the tissues--when they were younger! I am such an emotional sort. To

day I saw a woman hit and kick her own dog two houses from me, and

trotted over and pretended merely to be interested in the dog whom I

saw from my 4th floor apartment daily--worked quite well--spent and

hour or so getting to know them all, then went home and--well you know

the rest by now!
