Funny, but true!!! I made it to Durham this evening and called the

hospital to get my surgery time per Barb's instructions. The sweet

lady that answered the phone at the surgical nurses desk said the she

was the housekeeper and offered to find my time for me. She was

really nice and looked it up on my chart and told me that it would be

at 10:30 tomorrow. I told her that I would be there at 7:am just in

case! Ya'll please say a prayer for me and I hope that the maintence

man does'nt do my surgery tomorrow!!! :)

Thanks. I'll get there around six because I've got to get my ekg and

cbc done. My PCP did'nt have time to get them done and get the

results back. I'm hoping everything goes well with that, or I may

have to reschedule. I've always done it that way on previous

surgeries and never had a problem so I'm hoping for the best. I'll

post as soon as I can and give Bob an update on the pain...or lack of!

Now ... you know as well as I do that any male nurse with a name

like Skipp has got to be gay!!! I'll be sure to take a look though!

Thanks again for your help. I would'nt be here if it were not for

you. No matter what happens with my surgery, I'll be better off

tomorrow than I am today. Thanks for the prayers.

ROTFLMAO!!!!! You got me with that one!!!

(But he doesn't LOOK gay . . . I've got a picture going up on the

website. Hope to have this done tonight. Heehee.)

The anesthesiologist isn't too bad, either . . . lol. 'Course it could

be the drugs. If the head anesthesiologist, Ruth, starts looking good

to you, look out!!

Hi Dinah,

It took us a little under ten hours this drive. We made sure to hit

Atlanta at the right time. Rush hour traffic will make it an tweleve

hour drive. I may still be here when you get here next week. If I am,

I'll be sure to look you up. I'll go to clinic Tuesday if I am still

here. I have so many animals at home that it is hard to leave home

for long. I'll post as soon as I can to let ya'll know I made it.

So what is the best time to hit atlanta? Yes, please let me hear

from you. Have your husband post to let us know you are okay. Or

Blake isn't he with you too?

Atlanta is one hour ahead of you in time, so you need to avoid any

morning work hour traffic, lunch hour traffic or evening work traffic.

We went through around 10:30am their time and were ok. I went through

at 7:00pm their time on the way to clinic and was fine. On the way

home from clinic, I got into Atlanta at 4:00pm their time and sat in

traffic for over two hours. Really frustrating! I'll try to talk my

husband into posting. Not sure if he will, though. If I am alert

enough, I'll just have him bring the laptop to the hospital this

evening and post myself. No more sleep than I've had tonight though,

I expect to be sleeping in this evening! Grant could do it, but is

not familular with this laptop and may not be able to figure it out.

At any rate, I can't sleep! I'm not at all nervous, but keep thinking

that I am not going to make it to the hospital on time so I decided

to sit up until it is time to go. Time to take the rest of my meds

anyway. I'll see you on the otherside!

Stormy,

I know you won't get this prior to your surgery (yeah!) but I was late for

the hospital. I was suppose to be there at 6:00, got up and ready and was

on the road with directions to the hospital by 5:30, did I say

directions???? well the hotel manager wrote them down for me BUT she gave me

directions to Duke hospital!!! I never even thought about 2 hospitals in the

same area (I'm so sheltered) After I pulled over and cried for about 5 min.

I brainstormed and called the hospital on my cell phone! The poor lady who

answered was as clueless as I was as to where I was sitting! She put me in

touch with hospital security and the wonderful voice called Tyrone gave me a

guided tour all the way to the entrance. (can't imagine what that cell phone

bill will look like!! :o) Anyway with wonderful Tyrone's help I ended up in

the area where you sign in at 6:30! I signed in and in less than 5 minutes a

guy came out asking for me said Dr R was calling for me! On a Monday no

less!! Dr R was ready and waiting for big old me!! Ok so there is my 2

cents!!
