I just signed on here but wanted to say that I started my new life on

July 20, 2000. I weighed in at 321# pre op...and now three weeks

post op I weigh 300#'s... I cant believe I lost that much weight

already. I am so excited...I have been telling everyone what an angel

Dr. R is and I think he was sent to earth to help us all. Without him

and his staff and his surgery....I wouldnt be on my way to being

alive, and human again...I have more energy, more optimism than ever.

I am eating, or drinking I should say, mostly juices. apple,

pineapple, orange, V8, cranberry, grape, you name it I drink it...I

have my yougert everyday, I have some applesauce or broth and

saltines if I need it. I have tried a few other real foods but very

small amounts and it was fine. No problems with it. I will be glad to

talk to anyone who is interested or needs contacts or wants to know

anything. If asked to do it again, I would have this surgery again in

a minute. but only if Dr. Rutledge was the doctor!!! I hope everyone

else is doing well and look forward to hearing from you all. Im tired

of the liquid Carafate...that stuff tastes awful....yuck!!!

anyway...send me an email and Ill be glad to answer it

take care,

Jeanne Westcott

safely on the other side.

-Hi, I'm Alice.

I'm still checking things out but I have decided this is the surgery

for me.

Your story sounds great! I hope you continue to have great weight

loss.

I may take you up on your offer as a contact!:) I am going out of

town for a few weeks but when I get back, I am going to begin my

search for a local physician to support me. Once I find one, then I

am going to start with the packet. It's scary but I think I'm ready

to get started on the process.

Good luck to you and thanks for telling your story.

GOSH, how could I forget you, the painfully thin one!! (It was probably

a mental block borne of envy).

Think of the possibilities!! Pretzels-r-us and all that . . . okay, I'm

waiting with baited breath . . . details, details!!!

I can't give you details. I can't even give you generalities. In fact......is

there any truth to the

rumor that if you don't use it, it grows back? Just checking. Not that this is

the case.
