Guest guest
Hi Chrissie, How are you doing? I'm doing okay. I'm pleased to be going back to work on monday, but a little apprehensive, if you know what i mean! It will be 10 weeks since my surgery. The type of surgery that i had in 2000 was a Begers pancreatectomy, in which most of the pancreas is removed. A small rim is left to maintain the blood supply to the duodenum. In my case, this small rim became inflammed, and now most of it has been removed. I was told that the alternative was a Whipples, but my surgeon wanted to avoid this if at all possible. I did very well after my original operation, and apart from one attack of cholangitis, didn't have any problems until last September, so i'm hoping that i can go back to my usual activities, like before - but you never know with this illness, do you? I'm going to see my diabetes physician on tuesday, and i will ask again about pumps. Take care, and don't work too hard!! Hope the cold is getting better! Sue.
