We even did the SCDiet without doing the intro diet and used known candida killers ( Nystatin, garlic extract, Samento, gse etc)and still nothing happened. Dear friend with a yeast problem, SCDiet sadly does not work if one doesn't do a correct introduction to start the die off process. It is recommended for a minimum of two days. And then Elaine says that we need to pay attention to eating foods that we know we are digesting well (what the gut does not digest does harm/ferments bad gut guys). She gives outline in Chapter 9 and 10 that works well. We have learned that one has to go by the book for best results. For us nothing else was needed to get rid of yeast but SCD. When the bad gut flora dies off, because SCD offers nothing for them to " ferment " , the yeast can not survive with out them. Yeast/candida has to depend on other " bad gut bugs " for it's survival. Kill them by doing SCD correctly...kill the yeast problem. Also it is known that prescription antifungals, can cause the over growth of other bad gut bugs,.....keeping the vicious cycle going with the problem of Candida and other pathogenic yeast strains...since they depend on the other bad gut bugs to survive...they just come back. Since this remedy you used caused a " die off " reaction, I suggest that you go to intro, to keep the yeast away. Since more than likely other bad gut bugs still remain and if you do not...it will surely come back. Then only introduce foods as outlined in the BTVC book. Possibly utilizing the stages on Pecan Bread Web Site also as a guide line to when you introduce foods. God Bless you on your journey back to health and killing the Yeasty Beasties! Guest guest
Antoinette, If you read the post carefully you will see that she did do the intro diet later and did have a die-off reaction. Guest guest
OOPS I am sorry, I reread your post and now see that I misread it! You did do a intro! It was a bit confusing. Guest guest
This sounds great, and my son has documented presence of candida, so I'd like to try this as well. My question is, what happened after it was all over? Did you continue just the diet, or continue the SB? What sort of results did you see with your child after the initial 12 hrs? Did she start to get better/feel better? > > Hi all. Guest guest
Dear , You may want to just try the SCD intro first before other remedies. It may do the same trick without any other interventions. This was our experience. We did the intro for much longer though (10 days), because we couldn't tolerate/digest much else. We used the goat yogurt and acidolphils and " fanatical adhearance " . We had the die off of a life time. WE too felt " intoxicated " , needed to use activated charcoal. After first two weeks, all signs of yeast where gone (coated tongue, white spots in mouth, diaper rashes, diarrhea, and more), where gone. Elaine said to do the intro until diarrhea is under control...we did and it worked. Yeast can never be completely eliminated from the gut, just put back into balance. So it can always come back when oppurtunity knocks (antibiotic treatment, complex carbs undigested to ferment in the gut). So it is suggested by Elaine to continue the diet untill one year after last symptoms leave for best results. Some stick with it forever.
