Guest guest
, Yes, adding acidophilus can trigger more die-off in some kids. I'm not sure we can say that any negative response to an acidophilus supplement is *always* the result of die-off, though. I know that some kids in the past have had symptoms like this.... or become extremely hyper and anxious... after using the Custom Probiotics acidophilus. There could be some other reason for the initial bad reaction to any supplement (sensitivity??)... though I admit, I don't know exactly what or why. I think you can do a couple of epsom salts baths a day... or make some of the epsom salts lotion and use that as needed. I have to say I have no experience with using activated charcoal. Hopefully some others can comment. I suppose it *could* have been a coincidence... that he might have had the die-off response even if you hadn't given the supplement. Hard to know. Did he go through a period of die-off early on in the diet? Can you tell us what he's eating now? Patti die-off Hi- My son has been on SCD for about 6 weeks now and I just gave him his first dose of Kirkman's acidolphilus last week....and at the same time, he has started having more and more emotional outbursts and lots of crying. I stopped the probiotic after 2 days, but a week later, he is still a wreck. If the probiotic caused the behavior (perhaps die-off), could the die-off still be happening even though he hasn't had any probiotic in a week? And if it is die-off, what should I do to counteract? Charcoal? How much and how often? Epsom salt baths? How often?.... Thanks-
Guest guest
- Our DAN! doc suggested having activated charcoal on hand for die offs and reactions, he said give it every 2 hours until pain goes away. And remember don't give it w/ other things because it does take out EVERYTHING with it. Also, we give 2-3 epsoms baths a day, it is not harmful only helpful. Hope that helps? Our son is 4.11 y/o and 43 lbs.
