Guest guest
I know I have posted this before, but i ran across it again today and thought i'd repost it for the all of us who can't remember. LOL This is what I was told by a rheumy; how to have the lowest side effects from pred. 1. keep sodium low ( it causes us to retain water more) 2. eat low calorie diet. 3. Keep a hunger (meaning don't always eat when you feel hungry) 4. Exercise ( just a little if possible) 5. Use Calcium and Vit D (to prevent bone loss) 6. High Protein/ zinc ( this will help with the thing skin and bruising) 7. Keep up your postassium level. Of course you can see I haven't been following his directions, but think I will finally start. LOl Hope this helps some. And remember to lower your Pred slowly at 10mg. I was told 1mg a month to be safe. hugs
