Just wanted to let you know that in the last hour I have

researched hypercalcemia on the web. I have already found at 3

sources which link this condition to the developement of CP,,, this

is an excerpt from one article I found on Emedicine.com,,

" " The GI manifestations of hypercalcemia include anorexia, nausea,

vomiting, and constipation. Prolonged hypercalcemia tends to cause

high gastrin levels, which may contribute to peptic ulcer disease

and may lead to pancreatitis or the deposition of calcium in any

soft tissue. This deposition of calcium is especially prevalent if

phosphorous levels also are elevated, as in renal failure. " .

My work has now begun in earnest, researching everything I can

find on this subject,,,,,I will keep you all posted. Fred.

Fred,

My Internist knew that I had CP also, and she prescribed the additional

calcium anyway. I just don't think that she had enough knowledge of the

whole pancreatitis scenario, or that pseudocysts especiallly feed off of

calcium and insulin debris. Don't fault your doctor, unless she's a GI who

should know better.

With hope and prayers,
