Guest guest
Can someone tell me what the recommended daily amount for SCD yogurt is? I can't find this in the book...maybe I overlooked it? I'm confused because it says that Elaine recommends no more than 3 billion cells per day of probiotics at http://www.pecanbread.com/probiotics.html <http://www.pecanbread.com/probiotics.html> , then at http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/yoghurt_probio\ tic_count.htm <http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/knowledge_base/kb/yoghurt_probi\ otic_count.htm> , it states that there are 3 billion cfu/ml of SCD yogurt, and I'm not sure how to convert the ml to a U.S. measurement. What I got was something like a quarter of a teaspoon, so I know I must be doing this conversion wrong. Can someone please tell me how much SCD yogurt is recommended for adults? Guest guest
The daily limit amount of yogurt is no more than 3 cups per day as it can be hard for our livers to handle the galactose. Dripping the yogurt drains off most of that. The resulting texture is excellent for dips, spreads and cheesecake. The cheesecake recipe in Grain-Free Gourmet is actually made with ONLY dripped yogurt and no DCCC. BTW: Pardon my typos, I am still a two fingered typist even in my seventies! > > Carol F. Guest guest
My son is 7yo ASD and he did 1/2 cup with no problem. I put fruit in it. He dips. So I knew if there was something to dip in the yogurt he would eat it. He did. He seems to tolerate the fruit fairly well. Even though we have fallen off the SCD wagon we still make the yogurt. My two cents. Thanks. April mom to Matt ASD (we both have digestive issues) --------------------------------- How low will we go? Check out Yahoo! Messenger’s low PC-to-Phone call rates. Guest guest
Does dripping the yogurt drain off much of the protein? Or mostly just water and galactose? mother of Adam > > > The daily limit amount of yogurt is no more than 3 cups per day as it > > can be hard for our livers to handle the galactose. > > Dripping the yogurt drains off most of that.
