Thanks for the feedback. I am really excited about this helmet,

and so far we are sailing. had his first night in it and

he did just fine. I'm sorry to hear that not everyone has it so

easy.

One more question: our prescription said 4-6 months. We

are starting at 10mm and 90%. Will it really take that long?

3-4mm is def realistic!!

My Lucy (6.5 months) started 12/1 at 11mm and only ONE week later

she was 7mm and now a little over a month she is at 4mm - our next

apt is Monday and we hope to be less than 3 and done!

It all depends on when your son grows. If he hits a growth spirt early, you could be done early. If it takes a bit, you could be in the helmet longer. Most people are told something close to 4-6 months and generally it takes far less. For Elaine's first helmet (she got at 4 1/2 months) we were told 3-5 months, realistically looking at the shorter end. By 6 1/2 months she had outgrown it and needed to be casted for a second.

Elaine (twin A) plagio & tort, 7mos, 1 week in helmet #2

Meg,

Wow! That's great! I don't know if we will be quite so lucky,

but I'm really happy for you. On the other hand, 's been

in the band for just four days and we think we see an improvement

already. We're not going back for another ten days, and I'm

looking forward to a measurable change.

Did Lucy have brachy too, and has that improved?

What kind of band are you using?

No, she didnt have any brachy - just mild tort and the mod plagio. The tort

was resolved

before we banded. We are in a STARband and have been VERY happy with our

orthotist

and the product thus far. I was scared after reading some of the experiences

people had

on here with STARband - but this is one STAR believer :) Plus, our ortho is

great and that is

truly what seals the deal. Good luck and let us know his next measurements!
