Guest guest
, What symptoms make you think he has a throat infection? Is it reddened, swollen? Does he have pain with swallowing? Does he refuse to eat or drink? Could it be that he has caught an ordinary viral illness from someone? Something that is " going around " ? Some children run fever when they are going through a phase of " die-off " . That could still be happening with . Pasty, sandy BM... with foul smelling gas... sounds like you may possibly have die-off, OR he is not tolerating some food. With food intolerance, you would not see fever (unless it is unrelated... such as with a common viral illness)... but you *could* see fever with die-off. Not always. I'm sorry to hear he had a seizure... and I hope he feels better very soon. Patti possible infection???? Hi has been for 8 days with " regular " stools which seem to be well. During the last 15 days we had problems trying to introduce him almonds and cod liver oil, he overcomes the proof. Although some days he has to much smelly air like yesterday and he made 3 times poop, the last one before to sleep and it was pasty and sandy, this is a bad signal. Today he had a seizure two minutes after awakes, and the " Strangers symptoms " appearing (first one: seizure, next: involuntary facial movements, short breath, lack of convergence). I was checking the food of the last 3 days thinking the problem is the food, but two hours ago I felt him warm and now he is with fever. I don't know if the problem is a throat infection or intestinal infection because he hasn't diarrhea, although the last time he made poop it was abnormal-pasty and sandy. It is possible a relation between a throat infection and his intestines? ---------------------------------
Guest guest
Yes Patti Today he refuse the food and drink, he is coughing, he didn’t make poop, but all day was with a lot of smelly gas. I’ll try again with every food, his “food list” is very short, poultry (chicken and turkey), meat, fish, tunny fish canned, squash, carrots, string beans, pear-shaped (chayote in México), garlic, parsley, coriander, rosemary (I’m not sure, in México is Romero), oregano, and broccoli but this one causes him a lot of gas and I retired it. He has been on SCD since May 24th, is he going through a phase of “die-off” yet?or maybe he is not tolerating some food causing smelly gas, pasty and sandy stools? Guest guest
, I am hoping that the canned tuna fish you use has ONLY water and salt added. Much of the tuna we can buy here has " broth " added, which can contain illegals. I would be concerned about that. Also, I am thinking that it might be too soon for foods like garlic.... unless you are just using it for flavor, but pulling out the garlic cloves before he eats the food? Garlic is very good at killing yeast... so I think it is a good food, but unless pureed would be otherwise difficult to digest. Garlic is not usually recommended for beginners. I have the same concern about the rosemary. He doesn't actually eat the rosemary leaves, does he? They would seem very fibrous.... difficult to digest for someone who has been on SCD only one month. I would consider using all of the herbs and the garlic ONLY for flavoring.... but pull them out before serving the food, if possible. Yes, he could be having more die-off ... he has only been on the diet one month. Yes, it is possible... quite possible. Have you taken him to the doctor to check for throat infection? Is he still running the fever? Patti Re: possible infection???? Yes Patti Today he refuse the food and drink, he is coughing, he didn't make poop, but all day was with a lot of smelly gas. Guest guest
Hi Patti I’m using garlic just for flavoring. He eats Coriander and parsley lives chopped; I used them for flavoring too. I have been checking my daily reports and the days with “smelly gas” he ate string beans or broccoli. Do you recommended me try 2 days just with chicken and squash, other 2 days with chicken and carrots, 2 days with other vegetable…….to be sure which vegetable is not digestible for him? With respect to take him with the doctor I prefer to wait, the time between the last and penultimate fever was longer (9 hours) than the beginning (5 hours), he accepted food today in the morning, it could be a viral infection, if I take him to the doctor unfortunately I’m sure he is going to use medication –antibiotic- and I prefer to wait… you know, ’ gut flora are very damage. Guest guest
Hi , I can understand why you would not want to have antibiotics! I hope he is better soon. I'm very glad to hear he accepted food this morning. <<Do you recommended me try 2 days just with chicken and squash, other 2 days with chicken and carrots, 2 days with other vegetable...to be sure which vegetable is not digestible for him?>> This sounds like a very good idea. I would be highly suspicious of the broccoli.... but you already knew to hold off on that for now. Any time your child has symptoms that lead you to believe he does not tolerate a particular food, you may need to pull it... and try again later. He may be able to digest these foods better in time. best wishes, Patti Re: possible infection???? Hi Patti I'm using garlic just for flavoring.
