Guest guest
, I had the test for gallbladder, it is called a hydascan. They inject some stuff into you arm (iv) to make it contract. Be prepared, the contracting feels just like the pain I have when I have an attack. It only last for a few seconds and the whole test is over pretty quickly. When I felt those pains I was sure they were going to tell me that it was my gallbladder causing my problems. No dice, gallbladder was working just fine! I also asked my GI if he would just remove it to be on the safe side and he said in my case there was no way he would touch it, something about the duct coming from the gallbladder being so tiny he was afraid he would cut something that wasn't supposed to be touched and he said that could in my death. So I guess I have to keep my gallbladder, lucky me! :-') Good luck, I hope you feel better soon! Simi Valley, CA
Guest guest
Oh, good Lord!! I hope this isn't what happens to me....in my case my father and paternal grandmother had gall bladder problems. I'm hoping that is what it is and we can move forward from there. Thanks > , > I had the test for gallbladder, it is called a hydascan. They inject some stuff into you arm (iv) to make it contract. Guest guest
Hi : Thanks for the info......with the way this has been going, I imagine that's what will happen to me as well. Although we haven't even gotten that far YET, first is tomorrow's MRCP and then, I'm guessing that the GI doc is thinking about what you've described below as a hydascan. Yeah, get it? Hide-a-scan....this whole thing is getting me sooo frustrated and angry as well. I just WANT TO KNOW WHAT MY PROBLEM IS......I would think that in the year 2004 (and with all of the qualified med ctrs/doctors out there that do have some grasp of this awful illness), that he/they would be able to find SOMETHING!! Not to mention the internet and search options that doctors can use too!! Sorry to crack on doctors, but why do they have to keep scheduling test after test? Why can't they schedule them all for the same day or something? One comes up negative you proceed to the next...unless they are invasive which some of them are. Oh well, sorry to vent again today......but I'm getting sick of this and I'm run down and exhausted and quickly using up what I have of leave from work.......ok (smile) I'm done now.... thanks again and I TRULY do appreciate all of you and your support > , > I had the test for gallbladder, it is called a hydascan. Guest guest
, Take a deep breath and relax. Your pancreas does not like stress!!! Please always remember that. I think we all go through what you are going through right now. I think we all keep hoping that the Dr's find something that they can " fix " so we can have our lives back. Keep up the happy thoughts because some days that is all we have to get us through. Please also, do not bad about venting. This is what we are here for. We are here for each other through the good and bad so keep posting and maybe we can all learn from each other and hold each other up.
