Guest guest
Glenda, Sorry you're not feeling as well as normal, but I'm glad to hear that your doctor has you on a quick dose of the prednisone. Take care and have everyone around you take care of you too! You deserve it!
Guest guest
Hi Glenda Sorry to hear you are flaring. Take it easy and be good to yourself, you hear!!!! Hope you are well soon. Elaine Update on Glenda Hello All, Well I got in so much trouble last week for not tell you all that I am flaring so here I go. I am still flaring. It is not major, just a minor one due to the Imuran. I am taking 30 Mg. of pred. then tomorrow I go to 25 for 2 days and then 5 down every two days until I am off of it. My Dr. knows what pred. does to me so he doesn't leave me on it for long. All in All I am doing okay with the flaring it is just the yucky way you feel that gets you. It is hard to describe unless you are a fellow RP'r. Kind of like flu symptoms with out the sickness. I have just been trying to lay low this weekend and get over it but as you know RP has a mind of it's own and I will feel better when it says so. Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers. I know it is frustrating with the blood pressure thing, but pain can raise it very easily!! The only time I have had problems with mine are when I have been very ill or having a lot of pain. However, regular exercise can REALLY help keep your blood pressure under control. I used to walk or cycle an hour at a time, I can't do that now, but I can do 10 minutes on the exercise bike after every meal. That is not too hard, and it keeps my sugars under (better) control at the same time. It also helps joint mobility, and stiffness. I keep the bike in front of the TV. I record any programs I want to see particularly, then watch them when I do my exercise. Alternatively I put on music I really like - it's more motivational. When I started doing this, maybe 20 years ago (I mean trying to exercise more) I used to walk on the spot while watching tv if the weather was bad, or the children were asleep, but I couldn't go out. It's the regularity that is important, if you can stick at doing it for ten minutes at a time, then it is easier to build up. When I eventually decided to invest in a bike, that made me exercise, because I didnot want to waste the money I had spent on it!!!! I must stop rattling on! Take care, feel better, love Liz __________________________________________________
