Guest guest
I've also been turned down by Cigna, item KK..........let's do it, class action law suit sounds like the only alternative. If anyone wants to go for it, count me in! Irene BMI-42 and growing wanna-be MGB Re: waiting & hoping > > Also I have been calling my ins. co. (Cigna) since Dr. R. faxed them > the request for approval. He faxed it July 24. When I called Aug. 3 > > in Charlotte I have Cigna (they used to be healthsource) do you have an exclusion for WLS. I forget what page in the patient contract it is but the exclusion was " KK " . If you do they will be hard to fight. They have denied me 3 times. I have a complaint being submitted to the NC insurance commission by my lawyer. Hopefully you will have better luck than me. Keep us posted on your progress. Best of luck to all of us fighting for our lives. I think the way Cigna treats us is disgraceful. Maybe if we can get enough Cigna denials together, we could have a class action suit against them. I am at my wits end and can't afford to self-pay because Cigna also has a clause that they will not pay for any complications related to a treatment that they excluded. Sorry for venting....Thanks for listening. , Denver, NC BMI 53, MGB hopeful since 2/19. Guest guest
I have to share my good news with everyone. I have a new job offer in Wash. DC, that I was not going to take, but I had forgotten to decline. Well, I checked on the insurance they offer and they have Aetna. I called and found out that the PPO will cover if medically necessary, and I will only have $1,000 out of pocket, and Dr R one of their providers! So I am off to DC to start my new job! I know its crazy, but I will do anything to have this surgery. I thank God for this major blessing!!!! Ruqayya

Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I am staying with my sister in Bowie, MD, right now. I start new teacher orientation tomarrow, Wednesday. The problem is, the rest of my family-(4 children and a husband) are still in Miami and refuse to leave. So basically, I may be returning back there soon--but I have already signed my insurance packet so I will have that in place for at least a month! Thank you all for your support!!! rikaya
