But every time I go to the specialist they go, mmm well mmm not a lot we can do about this, continue with the diet and exercise! I had a discectomy at L:4.5 in 1985. Although it was much better afterwards, I seem to be getting more symptoms again. But back problems can cause pain and weakness in your leg and foot, but I am afraid only the neurosurgeon can really interpret this. Try and think positive. Ask the chiropractor what you should do short term to strengthen your muscles. Best of luck, love Liz __________________________________________________
Guest guest
, I'm so sorry to hear you news. but I'm glad that they are going to do something about it. I had an MRI of my back and it showed alot of the same things yours did. In my case they just said " It will be okay, surgery is too dangerous and there is no quarentee " . I think they didn't want to deal with me and the other problems I had. LOL You just remember there are a bunch of us praying for you and hopefully you will be on your feet again. If I can do anything for you, let me know and I'll send Heidi over. LOL Know I love ya
Guest guest
what they are talking about is the areas of your spine... the L is your lumbar which is in the mid back range, the S is near your tailbone area. and the spondylosis is talking about the fullness of each vertabrae (meaning if it has more solid areas than hole areas. stenosis is hardening of an area as far as the thecal sac I dont know. But with the most part it can be treated. Prayers are being sent for you and for your doc to be able to come to a beautiful conclusion. Barbara I need info, please Hi everyone!I'm feeling a little in the dumper today. Several days ago I went in for an MRI, and today I received the results. I hope that any of you with medical education can give me a little more insight, in layman's terms, about what the findings mean. Here is a brief description of the findings:"The L4-5 level demonstrates bilateral facet spondylosis, left greater than right. This results in narrowing of the neural foramen. There is fluid in the left facet joint greater than the right, and I cannot exclude a synovial cyst also on the left. There is deformity of the thecal sac though no definite central stenosis seen."The L5-S1 level reveals mild facet spondylosis, again worse on the left than the right. This does not result in any definite central neural foraminal stenosis."IMPRESSION:Previous surgery at the L4-5 level. There is deformity of the thecal sac at the L4-5 level secondary to facet spondylosis more so on the left than the right with some mass affect on the exiting nerve root."Thanks for any information anyone can give me. I am scheduled to see a neurosurgeon on the 26th of this month. Those of you who know me know that I've had some severe pain in my left foot for quite some time. I'm curious to know if the findings on the MRI could be causing foot pain.Haven't been reading the posts regularly lately, but hope all of you are doing well. I'm off to a chiropractic appointment, but will check in later tonight.Love you all, T.
