Guest guest
What about Santa Cruz organic juice (I think that is the brand)? It is sold at health food stores. They have a white grape. Is this one SCD legal? > > > I recently moved and have not been on the boards in a while. I have > > had my son on SCD for 1 year now. Otherwise you will need a hand written letter with an official letterhead on it describing the ingredients and any unlisted on the label as 2% of ingredients are not required to be listed under current government regulations. > > Carol F. Guest guest
Organic juices that we know are approved are the Knudsen " Just Juice " .... and I think the Kedem Kosher grape juice. Guest guest
Maybe I will call Santa Cruz and ask them about the product. I swear it tastes less sugary than Welch's. That doesn't necessarily mean anything but... anyway, thanks for the info. It looks like the Knudson's pear is okay based on review of previous messages. Back to Welch's for grape juice unless I get info otherwise. I was hoping to be able to find an organic white grape - I didn't see Knudson's white grape, I could try concord - any info on phenol content on white grapes versus the red/purple ones? Thanks! > > > What about Santa Cruz organic juice (I think that is the brand)? It > > is sold at health food stores. They have a white grape. Is this one > > SCD legal? > > I don't think so. R.W. Knudson's " Just Juice " line is legal. I don't know about the pear juice or the white grape from them. Carol F. Guest guest
Sorry, but I don't think Knudsen pear juice is legal. No commercial pear juice that I know of is legal. The Knudsen juices that ARE legal and in their " Just Juice " line... but that doesn't include the pear, I don't think. Guest guest
If your child can have honey, you might try honey lemonade. Just a good sized squeeze of fresh lemon juice into a glass of water... sweeten with honey to taste and serve over ice. You could use saccharin instead of honey. Katera never drinks anything but water... and honey lemonade. She's easy! Patti Re: Legal Organic Juice AHHH! JUice - I hope I can get her onto water soon! Guest guest
Please help us here, Call me paranoid, stupid or just not getting this JUICE THING! AND Carol I have read the book on juices! I am still baffled! I know for a fact that some fo these Knudsens juices that are said to be legal are made from concentrate!!!! ARE WE SURE THEY ARE SAFE? If they are I am going ot buy some! HOW DO YOU KNOW??????? I have called many of these companies and they swear their is no added sugar...but this goes against what Elaine told us about not using juice from concentrates. Antoinette and family of five 2/06 List of Juices said to be safe/legal > > The Knudsen juices that are legal are : > Just Black Cherry > Just Blueberry > Just Cranberry > Just Pomegranate > Organic Just Concord Grape > Organic Just Tart Cherry > > None of the other Knudsen juices (including their Pear juice) are > SCD legal. > >
Guest guest
Antoinette, Elaine herself okayed the " Just Juice " line. That's all I know. I have never personally bought any of them, or inspected the labels. Patti Re: Legal Organic Juice Please help us here, Call me paranoid, stupid or just not getting this JUICE THING! Guest guest
You can't be sure of anything. Nothing stays the same. My water company just switched the water I was drinking without ever telling me, not even the delivery driver. And that's just water. What is sure in this life? Why is it supposed that all companies, ever after, continue to make the product with the same source materials and process??? The only one rule I am aware of that Elaine left was for people to do their own legwork and verify with companies. Maybe she said this or that jucie was legal, but folks, she is dead, she cannot continue to check up on said " legal " products. Just because a product is legal in 1995 doesn't mean it will stay legal in 2007. And this is only addressing hidden sugar and gluten issues, this is not even addressing benzene, residues of disinfectants, mold issues and etc. I don't think this is " paranoia " , I think there is some mindful intuition going on. How can we be sure any commercial product is safe when the truth in labeling laws are so subjective and don't appear to apply to prepared foods manufacturers obtain from elsewhere. All commercial juice is natural sugar water, processing, age, and often unripe fruits have contributed to a nutritionless brew. Bringing my children to where they are now, I have done so by paying attention to detail. I often find that companies and individuals who proclaim I should have faith in a product, when it goes against my intuition, are either trying to sell something or don't quite have their own picture put together, or are unheedful of the progress we have made by getting the most out of our food. Paranoia has nothing to do with it, finding things that facilitate healing is an ongoing process.
