,

I purchase the individual vitamins, minerals and amino acids that make up the

required amounts from my health food store. They are manufactured by

Solgar. When doing it this way, there are several different pills to take to

come up with the correct amount. You can purchase tablets that already

have all the ingredients in them by mail order from Pharmanord, which is a

British pharmaceutical company. Delivery takes several weeks, as they have

to go through US Customs. The antioxidants for pancreatitis from

Pharmanord are called " Antox " . The website is listed below:

http://www.pharmanord.com/product.htm?l=uk & id=antox

You asked whether the duragesic patches caused sleepiness. I've been

using them for over a year and don't find that they cause any excess

sleepiness. I also take morphine for breakthrough. I was using Percocet

10/325's but stopped because I was needing to take too many each day to

cover my pain.

You also asked about pancreatic enzymes. Since malabsorption problems

and steatorrhea are such regular problems with CP, almost all

gastroenterologists prescribe enzyme supplements as a standard part of their

treatment. Not only do they help with absorbing valuable nurtrients, they also

help reduce the pain people often get after they eat. I cannot eat without

them.

I hope this helps.

With hope and prayers,

Heidi
