Guest guest
Hi, My brother has to have a Whipple procedure after his consult with his doctor. He has been told his chances of pancreatitis after the Whipple are not high (currently has never had pancreatitis), but without it, he runs a high risk of cancer in the duodenum and pancreas due to our hereditary condition. I spoke about this a month or so ago, so won't go into it again. I would greatly appreciate, those who have had a whipple, if you could spare a few minutes and let me know how the surgery has changed your lives if at all in regards to diet, risk of dumping syndrome??? pancreatitis attacks if you didn't suffer from them before your whipple etc...just so that he and his fiance know what they will be facing. I told him everything I knew, having faced the possibility of a whipple twice, but never did have one, so I can't help him past what questions to ask the doctor beforehand. Thankyou so very much,
