There are ones where you make pancakes and muffins that include chicken. This might disguise the meat enough for your son. With my son, who also rejected meat, we continued to offer meat in a more " regular " form, requiring a taste before getting other foods he prefered. Gradually over time we increased the amount of meat we required him to eat and eventually he admitted that it was good and our problem was over. I hope such an approach will work for you. , mom to , age 10, ASD, SCD since April 2004

Guest guest
Something to consider, some people have success acclimating their child to scd foods and then doing the intro later. It really seems to promote so much healing, I would encourage you to do the intro at some point even if you can't manage it in the beginning. Also, so many kids seem to really open up their food choices after the intro. Those little bacteria seem to call for their favorite foods until you get a handle on them. Would never have believed it had I not expereinced myself. Best to you as you start! Colby self, and dd scd 3/06 celiac
Guest guest
This would make a lot of sense to get their palate to liven up and begin to love the food. I have put my daughter on mostly SCD and I did not do the intro exactly for this reason. I may still do it down the line but her palate is just opening up as she begins to clean her system up she is just enjoying the food so much more. She is 9 and is finally refusing food from other people that offer it to her. I have tried SCD before but she just does not have any will power. I couldn't believe it when she wanted more of my SCD cucumber salad. I made it a few weeks ago when she wasn't on it and she said she didn't like it. Now she likes it. Maybe because there was nothing else . Oh well, better than nothing I suppose.
