Guest guest
HI all, What a relief today. I saw my PCP (after a 3 mo. wait for apt.) and she agreed to support me. She did my pre-op physical and all the tests. As soon as I get her info I can send my package in. I was so worried that she wouldn't support me because she's very thin and believes you can lose weight through exercise and self-control. (You can in a perfect world). Thank you, thank you, thank you! I will go ahead with self-pay if Dr. Rutledge accepts me (please, please, please) and keep fighting Cigna to reimburse. At least this is one more hurdle overcome. in Charlotte

Guest guest
Great idea . My PCP was very supportive, but I was really scared before I brocahed the subject with her. I also had printed off the manual and other Web site material and gave it to her after I talked to her about treating my obesity. She read it all and called me about 4 days later and was very impressed with the material and thought it was a good option for me. Unfortunately, she went on vacation then, so I can get my physical until Sept 7. In the mean time, I am trying to get insurance approval and working on my packet, which I almost have done. Hoping I can get it all in by September 11. - waiting in Chicago PCP I'm still a pre-op hoping to get my packet in this week and praying for Dr. Rutledge's approval and surgery soon. I noticed some people in the group are going to see their PCP and give them the info on MGB then. I had to wait awhile for my apt. with mine and before I went I wanted her to have info on MGB. I mailed her a letter explaining why I wanted to have the MGB and also sent her a copy of the manual and other info off the web site. This way she had a chance to read up on the procedure before I saw her and she knew exactly how I felt and what I wanted. It worked well because after talking to me for a little bit she agreed to support me and gave me the pre-op physical. You might want to do this so you don't have to go in cold to your appointment and try to explain everything then. in Charlotte ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This message is from the Mini-Gastric Bypass Mailing List at Onelist.com Please visit our web site at http://clos.net Get the Patient Manual at http://clos.net/get_patient_manual.htm To Unsubscribe Send and Email to: MiniGastricBypass-unsubscribe (AT) egroups (DOT) com
Guest guest
Dear , Why couldn't I think of that! Great thinking, I am sure that speeded up your process. It took my a couple of months worrying how I was going to get my PCP to come around. You will be on the other side before you know it with that kind of thinking. Dancing next week!
