Guest guest
Sorry, forgot about the stent bizzo... I asked the GI who found it how come it didn't show on the xrays, and was told that if it was lodged inside the pancreatic duct, it wouldn't necessarily show up...(I didn't quite believe this, as other stents have shown up when they've been where they've been put, but then again, it may be so). They believe it got sucked in deep into my pancreas, and when my enzymes built up, they probably pushed the stent back near the duct opening with the pressure they were under. And I'm certain I could feel it. I told doctors numerous times that when I lay in a certain position, or bent over, sometimes even just sitting down that something was poking me from the inside. That always got dismissed....if I ever have a stent placed again, and i feel a poking sensation, I will question the doctor about it and not allow it to be ignored again. When the GI found a polyp growing 4cm into my pancreatic duct, it had showed up on film as an air bubble. It wasn't until another ercp 4 weeks later that he thought it odd that the air bubble was still there..and it didn't move when he put pressure around the area. My last CT scan I had done 2nd Feb this year, showed an air pocket trapped inside my pancreatic duct...I immediately questioned the (oncologist) doctor (one of the surgeon's interns) if this could be another polyp growing and he wrote me off as stupid basically, but when I got to see the surgeon for my weekly check up on my wound, he showed me the CT film and said it definitely was an air pocket..and probably why I have been having more pain again...he at least said it was possible for a polyp to show up as an air bubble, and would keep that in mind in my case.
