I haven't made this yet and would like to try. The recipe in the book calls for whole almond but then later it says to blend all ingredients together. Is that ground almond or should they be kept whole? Also it says blanced filberts. That means taking the skins off? AND where do I get a cheesecloth from? thanks!! Guest guest
I don't have any whole almonds on hand. I have lots of almond flour. Isn't that just ground almonds? Can I use that or should I use whole? Guest guest
Also, do you just put your almonds in the blender whole. Does the blender ground this up all on it's own? I can't imagine my blender working this well. :-) > > I-Have-It-is-delicious.-You-get-cheesecloth-from-any-grocery- store,or-better > -yet,-buy-a-nut-bag-which-strains-the-nutmilk-beautifully.-You-can- get-nutba > gs-from > > > > http://www.alissacohen.com/appliances.html > > > > They-work-much-better-than-cheese=cloth. > > > > I-use-1-cup-raw-almonds,-(I-do-not-skin-them,skins-come-out-in-the- bag) > > 1-cup-water > > Blend-until-you-have-paste. > > While-the-blender-is-blending,-slowly-add-3-more-cups-of-water*- and-blend-th > oroughly.(Vita-mix-is-great-for-this) > > Add-honey-to-sweeten-if-you-want,-blend-a-little-more > > Strain-the-milk-through-several-layers-of-cheese-cloth-(or-the- bag)--into-a- > pitcher. > > Voila!-Almond-milk > > *Note,-This-is-very-rich,-so-use-water-to-desired-consistency.- Enjoy > > > > -in-Phoenix > > > > From: pecanbread [mailto:pecanbread ] On > Behalf Of chericontes > Sent: Wednesday, July 12, 2006 7:03 PM > To: pecanbread > Subject: Anyone made Almond Milk? > > > > I haven't made this yet and would like to try. Guest guest
My Blender is just the cheapy basic one. Nothing special. I can't imagine spending $300 for a blender. I still need to get a juicer & Dehydrator too!
