If your letter if full and complete, and addresses all the issues, you will be fine. As for the contacts, I know that Dr R prefers you talk to somew people " live, " but did approve us and others with only email contacts. He did ask us, point blank, at clinic if we had spoken to anyone. Of course I mentioned the fact that we " speak " via the onelist daily to hundreds of people, and have for months! Also, we contacted over 90 people, via email and received around 45 responses, so it was clear that we had done our homework. As for obsessing over the emails, we all have been through that! Guest guest
Error/Warning. The letters now must be longer and we are much more strict. Lots of people were copying the sample letter without really knowing what was in it. I am now requiring 1 full page per topic. (check the new Manual) I am going to be very strict and soon there is going to be a test. (Yikes, it is tough to get the very best surgery in the world for weight loss:-) RR Rutledge, M.D., F.A.C.S. Guest guest
Hey! Betty! I am still pre-op but my packet has been approved...On each contact I just wrote a short paragraph: the persons name (some I only had the first name), their e-mail address and the best information they gave me. I think I actually had 11 or 12 names. Hope this helps... Guest guest
, Thats why I asked. I have written a few term papers in my life and have seen all of the tricks. I just want to make sure that I don't write too much for the good Doctor. Grant Stufft Re: Patient Letter Grant E. Guest guest
Hey Robin we're next door neighbors I'm in Oxford. I'm scheduled to have my surgery next Friday. I am so excited. I believe that when I went to the clinic Dr. R said that six feet were bypassed. > >Reply-To: MiniGastricBypass (AT) egroups (DOT) com >To: MiniGastricBypass (AT) egroups (DOT) com >Subject: Patient Letter >Date: Thu, 24 Aug 2000 09:07:58 -0400 (EDT) > >I am finishing up my patient letter and was wondering if anyone knows how >much of the small intestines is bypassed. > >Thanks > >Robin >, NC >BMI 52 >Accreditation QM Coordinator > Parham Hospital >566 Ruin Creek Rd >, NC 27536 > >fax - >robin_clark@... >----------------------------------------------- >FREE!
