Guest guest
you all are so lucky, My son will not sleep during the day to save his life. He is only 7 months old UGHHHHH Anyways he does sleep at night about 11 hours. He is very fitfull though. I think that it has something to do with his congestion. I give him one of his 4 xopenex treatments at 11:00 and cpt. This does not seem to help though. Poor little terd is always so stuffy. Docs can not figure out what is going on Sinuses, alergies, or just plain stuffy???? Any one have any ideas that I could try Maybe he will start sleeping better if he can breath dang it. Love to you all Ashauna
Guest guest
Do you have him sleep with his head elevated? Is he too big to sleep in a bouncy seat? Patti slept in hers until she was about 8 months old. We had one that vibrated and we would turn it on and off durring the night. It helped her tremendously. Guest guest
My son Zach is the same way and he is almost 19 months old. I think we can count on both hands the number of times he has slept through the night. Luckily my husband and I take turns staying up with Zach. Zach will ususally take two short naps a day after his cpt. I wish there was some magic trick, but some kids just do not sleep. I have learned to accept that I will sleep in my next life. Guest guest
Dawn, yep tried all of that. I really think that it is just a battle of wills with him. He is quite the little fighter in all areas of his life. Some days I just want to scream because a 7 month old baby is the boss of me. Not really but seems like it at times. LOL hugs and wishes Ashauna
Guest guest
Sara, you make me laugh. I don't even know if I will be able to do that. I will be a raging insomniac by that point!!!!!! LOL you made my day with that. I had had it with him not sleeping today. Now I have a better perspective. JUST FORGET ABOUT SLEEP WHO REALLY NEEDS IT ANYWAYS. Ashauna mom to Maxwel and Colgan who have both managed to leave black circles under my eyes. Talk about premature ageing.

Guest guest
Hang in there. I forgot to mention that sometimes Zach's ability to sleep is better after he has had a bowel movement. If he hasn't had one, there is zero chance of a nap. Once he goes, he seems more rested and will sleep a while. Glad you were able to laugh. I remember Zach at 7 months. I was convinced he had the worst case of colic ever in the history of mankind. The only thing that helped was turning the tv to a station that had static and then turning the volume up. He liked the sound and would calm down, but he still didn't sleep much. (sorry not much help). I wish you had someone to give you a break. I know more than anyone how much a good night of sleep would help. Sara -- In cfparents , Ashauna_and_@w... wrote: > Sara, > you make me laugh. Guest guest
Sara, How in the world did you figure out that Zach liked the sound of static? Sounds like one of those freak accidents. LOL Anyways I am willing to try anything so if anyone sees us watching static at full blast I'll tell them you said it worked. HAHAHAHA And if it doesn't then they will have to just carry me to the looney bin. Lots of them watch static on tv. JUST KIDDING Ashauna
Guest guest
Someone told me to try it. They knew how desparate we were for something to finally work. My husband hated the static and was so glad when Zach could tolerate regular tv. Zach is having a terrible rough patch of sleep lately. We are lucky to get 6 hours of sleep a night and two 1/2 naps a day. He is sooo uncomfortable. His nose is running like a faucet and coughing constantly. The only advice I get is to make sure I don't give him antihistimines or cough suppressants. The Cf doc does not think his sinus problem is cf related and our pediatrician has no idea what to do about anything, so poor little Zach just cries and cries. We are going to our ped today to beg for an ent referral. I know I am going to have to act like a crazy witch to get it. What fun! > Sara, > How in the world did you figure out that Zach liked the sound of > static? Sounds like one of those freak accidents. Guest guest
Ashauna, I don't know how you manage. You do a great job of taking care of your children, running a household and learning about cf. That's a lot for those of us that have our spouse at home every evening. Guest guest
It wasn't as bad as I had feared. they are open to a referral, but may not do a referral to the same hospital that Zach goes to for his cf clinic. His Cf clinic is out of network and we had to move heaven and earth to be allowed to take him there. They are willing to send him to an in network ent. Zach is finally taking a nap. We battled all day long. I guess I won the war. I think it stinks that our military families do not have access to better medical care. You and your kids should be getting premium treatment instead of having to deal with this frustration. Sara > Sara > Good luck getting that referal. Guest guest
Sara, I am so glad that you got to get refferal. I hope that you are able to set up some way to have cf doc and ENT doc consult eachother about any treatments needed. I have had to do this even with my regular pediatrician. It works out well though. I know that it is a pain having to start new records and all that but hopefully you all will be able to find Zachs problem and get it fixed!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you. You did win. I know about the military docs. it seems like we should too, but that is when I consider myself lucky because to be honest I never have to worry about being pulled from hospital too fast or not getting the care that I need. The only thing is that you practically have to walk in there with an M-16 to get their attention. LOL just kidding. I am not postal. Let us know what they say ok at ENT Ashauna
Guest guest
Abby's ENT and Pulmonary doctor are at the same CF clinic. We schedule appointments back to back. By the time we get to the second appointment, they have already talked to each other about Abby. It's pretty impressive actually. Gale > Sara, > I am so glad that you got to get refferal.
