Guest guest
Hello! I am having trouble finding out which high quality brands of the following EFA's, with the " specifications " listed below, are SCD legal. If anyone knows of any brand names that fit these descriptions, I'd be very appreciative! 1. A good SCD legal Fish Oil (note: not " Cod Liver Oil " - I have found a suitable one already) -higher EPA to DHA ratio -Lemon and Lime free, as our son has an anaphylactic allergy to these. -Is it essential to get liquid vs. soft gel capsules, or are our kids able to digest these capsules, in spite of digestive issues? -**Is " d-alpha tocopherol " (vit E) SCD legal even though its from a soy source? 2. A good SCD legal Nut-Seed Blend -with ratio 2:1 of Omega 3:Omega 6 -many have flax seed oil: is this still considered illegal on the SCD? Are there any SCD legal alternatives? Thank you! Although flax seed is not allowed on the SCD diet, Flax seed OIL is SCD legal. mother of Adam
Guest guest
<<Although flax seed is not allowed on the SCD diet, Flax seed OIL is SCD legal.>> Udo Erasmus, author of Fats That Heal, Fats That Kill, likes hemp oil... and pumpkin seed oil better than flax. Or there's always his own " Udo's Choice " blend, which he feels has the perfect balance of all the EFA's (I'm not plugging it, it's just an option). It does have rice and oat germ OILS in it... but not the starch from those grains. I've seen it on the shelf at Wild Oats and Whole Foods, or you could order online. His site has a lot of general info and articles about EFA's & nutritional oils and I would trust his wisdom on the subject: www.udoerasmus.com Hemp oil is made from hemp that is legally grown for the nutrient-rich seed and fiber (that is used to make clothing)... has no THC in it so there is no worries about it's association with marijuana. Like flax oil, it oxidizes quickly... has to be fresh, refridgerated and used before the pull date is up. Has kind of a nutty taste like flax. Some people can digest the gel capsules others cannot. Are you able to use other gel capsules without problems? > -**Is " d-alpha tocopherol " (vit E) SCD legal even though its from a > soy source? Veggie capsules are usually easier than beef gelatin capsules for those who are chemically sensitive. Carol F.
