Guest guest
Thank you! I had already presumed on your good nature and posted a quick question to you before you were so kind as to ask me directly if you could help! I am feeling better to-day thank you but I have yet another cold. I know that increased infections can be a sign of the diabetes. I can hardly find the words to describe the sort of " ill " feeling I had yesterday, Heidi. Perhaps rather like real flu but also that incipient panc feeling in the middle! The actual pain wasn't too bad but I had that awful mix of nausea, dizziness, weakness etc. which is as bad as the pain itself. I was also absolutely exhausted....fell asleep at the computer! However, it is only fair to say that I tend to get very little sleep....because I'm a fool, not because I can't sleep....because I cannot make myself go to bed early and I'm up at 6.30 am to go to school. If I don't go to sleep much before 1.30 - 2.00 am, I suppose I deserve everything I get! I'm having a lot of joint pains (sadly, not in the left elbow so I don't qualify for the club!!!) Perhaps having pain in every joint EXCEPT the left elbow could allow me to join by the back door as it were???!!!! This frightens me Heidi. I may not have told you before but my mother suffered from similar pain, starting in her hands, as mine did. It gradually got so bad that she ended up having to be wheelchair-bound for many years before she died. Initially it was diagnosed as rheumatoid arthritis but this diagnosis was later abandoned and the docs were left wondering. I have always believed it to be linked in some way to her pancreatitis but I could be wrong. My panc specialist didn't recognise any known syndrome when I mentioned it to him. I will tell my GP when I arrange this week's glucose tolerance test but I'm afraid experience has shown me that it's usually only when you reach a specialist that there is much hope of anything unusual being recognised or followed up! Sorry to sound cynical. I've also got the swelling in my left foot (is there a club for that??!!) which I've mentioned in my other post. THANKS a million Heidi. I really appreciate your concern and the chance to talk to you. I don't expect you to diagnose at that distance (!!) but it's wonderful to be able to talk to you. Yes....the music was fantastic! Take care, With very good wishes, Fliss
