Guest guest
I love a couple glasses of wine at night and have always just gotten the big cheap 5 liter port wine boxes... I am 100% on the diet myself except for regular store bought wine and about 6 glasses of diet coke a day (just how bad IS diet coke by the way?)... I have no idea how to get cheap dry wines...ideas??? Would love it to be organic AND dry, but guessing that would be VERY expensive...i need to keep the wine in the $4-5 per bottle range tops... Thanks! Randy the Rainman

(see BTVC edition ten bottom of page 77) Cotts used to make a cola with saccharine and that would be legal if they still do .. Ask at any liquor store for a wine that has zero sugar content. Here in Ontario they are rated and it's easy to find out. Carol F. SCD 6 years
Guest guest
My daughter is the autistic one, i am doing the diet because i want to (and because it works much better with my daughters diet that way)...so i can drink diet coke and its only as bad as any normal person drinking it (which is bad enough)... How bad IS diet coke for me, 6 glasses a night? Guest guest
Well, I don't have any good web site URLs or book titles at the ready to suggest to you, but I am under the impression that Diet Coke is very very bad. And as for my personal experience, giving it up completely and increasing my intake of filtered water has had a very beneficial effect. I'm pretty concerned about your heavy intake and am hoping that you'll take my advice to either give it up or get down to just one per day. For the wine, I'm not knowledgeable about specific wineries or labels, but I thought I'd throw a suggestion out there. Maybe you could look into the world of the serious winos and find out more about wine auctions and other situations where people commonly buy wine by the case. If you can find one that is close to your price range in the wine shop, maybe it will be more affordable by the case. I sometimes go to a very good local shop and buy specialty beers for a thoughtful thing for my husband. When I was there most recently I saw a few different organic wines had been added to their inventory and if I remember correctly they were not too bad, price-wise. I'm sure they were all less than $9 dollars a bottle, some better than that. So if you can find one that doesn't have to be transported too far or is down around 6-7dollars per bottle maybe it will be less than 5 per bottle when buying by the case. Since I haven't actually done this, I can't promise, but I'd think its worth checking into, maybe just ask at a local wine shop rather than through some other source. At some shops they are thrilled to hear your price range and figure out what they can sell you. But if you find that you can't get a good enough price through a local wine shop definitely look into auctions or purchasing directly from a winery. There are tons of wineries here in Ohio. Are there any where you're at? Sheril --------------------------------- Groups are talking. We & acute;re listening. Check out the handy changes to Yahoo! Groups. If you use this site you can check the various wine brands to see if they are very dry wine. http://www.nbliquor.com/prod-search.asp The wines would have to have a " 00 " to be SCD legal. There is also a function for price ranges, so you can mix and match " brand name " with " sugar content " or " retail price ($CDN) " with " sugar content " . It's a pretty handy site.
