Guest guest
Hi I went to my PCP yesterday and she put me on Lipitor. We were trying to hold off until I had my surgery, but we both thought I would be post-op by now. Since I can't schedule until January and my Cholesterol is going up...she put me on the Lipitor. I am concerned because one of the side effects could be liver damage. I really want to have a pretty liver for Dr. R. Is any one else on Lipitor? Can you go off of it once you lose some weight? I know a lot of people post that they go off their meds, is this one of them. Also, I have to have a sleep study to check for sleep apnea. I know this sounds crazy, but these are two more co-morbidities to add to my list, so maybe insurance approval will go more smoothly. I know I will be approved by my new insurer. In the meantime with all the different test I need done, I am going to make Cigna pay for them. I am going to everything done in December, and schedule my surgery for Janury. Thanks, , Denver, NC BMI

Guest guest
I dont know personally a bout Lipitor, but I would not take any products by AHP... Just my preference. Even stopped to hormones, ! I have taken Zocor since my heart attack and quad bypass surgery since 2-97 and have NEVER had a problem w/ liver, and I was not tested when they first put me on it, until after a year..... I love managed care,,,,,,,, NOT....... But my current pcp has done blood work every two months for the last two years and have never had a problem.... HOpe this helps.
