Guest guest
Hi all, we are new to this group. We just started the diet on Saturday with my 13 year old ASD/seizure disorder son on the advise of our DAN doctor (Dr. Hines). I have a couple of questions. First I am wondering if we will see any results since my son has no yeast or bad bacteria in his stool and no inflammation in his small or large intestine as per a comprehensive digestive stool analysis through Genova Diagnostics? (Got the stool test back Friday see Dr Hines on Tuesday) One of his good bacteria is low (Bifidobacterium). My other concern is that my son is Constipated normally, has never had diarrhea and I am worried that the constipation will get worse on this diet since the things we used to manage the constipation are now illegal's? Thanks Robin

You may see results. Others in your situation have. (Got the stool test > back Friday see Dr Hines on Tuesday) One of his good bacteria is low > (Bifidobacterium). Guest guest
Welcome to the group! From our experience with our son with seizures on the spectrum (childhood disintegrative disorder) and some other health problems, we have seen incredible results. Seizures have improved, behavior has improved, responses to therapies (OT, PT, Speech, Sensory Integration) are now measurable--slight in some areas, but improving. We have been able to decrease seizure meds, and his blood levels are now stabilized. Dakota was constipated since birth (despite breast feeding) and horrible hemorrhoids started at about four months of age as a result. The constipation has been completely resolved, and it resolved rather quickly (within the first few weeks), and his hemorrhoids have greatly improved (not completely due to other complications). For us, the " gray areas " are so much clearer---we rarely ask the questions " Is it seizure, is it regression, is it illness, etc. " The constant deciphering are days of the past. Good luck, and I hope you see similar successes. SCD 2 years Mom to Dakota (8--NF, CDD, Seizures) and (6--happy and healthy)
