Hi Dottie,

bad news from is that she cultures Pseudomonas, but good to hear

that she is asymptomatic and I am amazed about her stature. Fiona is

slightly taller but weighs 13 pounds less.

Anyway, no personal info from my side, we wait anxiously for the

result of Fiona's latest blood check where she got tested for

pseudomonas antibodies for the first time. It never appeared in a

culture but only with the lack of antibodies can we be sure that it

doesn't hide somewhere in her lungs.

Here is a link to the latest research about pseudomonas and

zithromax, hope it helps a bit.

Good Luck to you and your family!

presently doing Tobi and Cipro. We go back to clinic in November and

her doctors want me to think about starting her on Zithromax. I was

wondering if any of you parents with younger children are doing the

zithromax and how they have been since starting it. is weighs 57

pounds and is 48 inches tall. Mainly her health is good. Also how

has pseudomonas affected your child to the parents whose child has

been culturing for awhile now? Any information is very much

appreciated.

Dottie,

My daughter (4 years) is currently taking zithromax 3 x per week. She

has cultured pseudomonas in the past and even though she hasn't cultured

it in over a year, her doctors believe it lurks in her lungs still.

Anyway, we have had good success with it. Kate has less of a cough

since she's been on the zmax. When she was put on this drug, I

researched it quite a bit. The only actionable items I found related to

drug-induced nutrient deficiencies. Macrolides (includes azithromycin)

evidently deplete certain nutrients such as the B vitamins and vitamin

K. And like many antibiotics, they tend to kill off the good intestinal

flora which causes problems such as diarrhea. I have also seen posts

from others (Kim I think) indicating magnesium deficiency may be a

problem as well. So, after bringing the information to Kate's doctors,

they agreed that she should increase her vitamins, and they also want to

check her B vitamin levels periodically.

Here's a link to a website that speaks to deficiencies related to Zmax

Good luck,

Hi Jane,

Thanks so much for your information. It helps to know that there are other

little ones using zithromax with good results. Has she been taking it very

long? We go to clinic in November so I will talk to the doctors about the

vitamin deficiencies. I only want to do what is best for is and keep her

healthy until we get that much needed cure which I feel is really on the way.

Thanks again,

Dottie

Dottie,

Kate has been taking zithromax for about three months now. So I can't

give a report about long-term usage. I totally agree with you about

keeping is as healthy as possible so that she's ready for the cure!
