Sharyn, RP can and does whatever it pleases! The hot flashes in the ears are only too familiar to me. Nothing like sitting it church and have your ears start flashing, which eventually hits my face and starts a full scale hot flash (which, unfortunately, I am still getting big time). My husband says I'm sending out signals with one ear flashing then the other, it's pitiful! And, yes, you could fry an egg on me. I'm conderned about what you are saying about your eyes though, are you having pain in your eyes? One of the first lovely things I got with RP was Iritis - which is an inflamaton of the eyeball and ever so painful! I had steroid drops and creams I had to put in my eyes for three weeks before it started to improve. We think my RP is also affecting my right knee now, I have to have arthroscopic surgery on it (waiting for the hospital to call to schedule). It's really difficult to figure out just what is causing what. I've had chondromalacia in my knees for years and have had a number of surgeries via the scope for them. Also have arthritis in my knees. So, what exactly is the cause of the knee pain, besides torn cartiledge? Who knows? It can be a combination of all of the above. That's the hardest thing about this disease, what is causing which effect? If you find out the answer to that one, PLEASE share it with all of us, I, for one, am dying to know! Don't feel like crapola so wantedto toss out a question again to everyone.Now I realize the RP affects each of us differently...or most of thetime it does, but I have a question about how I have been feelingsand what has been happening to my physically.First, I've been having these things that I call hot flashes wheremy face, ears and neck turn bright red and I feel like I have amajor fever. Besides that I can feel like I'm burning up. Not likeyour normal hot flashes like you have when you are going through thechange...Been there done that one already :)My right eye turns red too. I feel like crap and there is no waydifferently I can explain it.Most of the time all of the above symptoms pass, but sometimes theylast longer. With that in mind can RP cause what you all refer toas flares for a short time or does it have to have the pain in theears and last more than a few minutes, hours or days.Also, I started to get a sore throat and it was tuff for me toswallow last night. I also felt like my ear was clogging up orsomething like that. I just went to bed and tuffed it out until Ifinally fell asleep. When I got up this morning it wasn't as badand today same way.Do any of you know if RP can do this to you too?I'm just asking questions since some of what some of you havewritten can fit me like a jacket. I just don't know what can becalled a flare or not and how little or long it can last.Thanks guysSharyn
